OBITUARY TRIBUTES

This month Actionoverseas pays tribute to two missionaries who died recently, both whom magnificently served God in overseas locations. Actionoverseas and the Apostolic Church salute their service. Actionoverseas was represented by Pastors Eric Parker and David Wade at Pastor Parry Selby’s funeral [Saturday January 17th.] and by Pastor Andrew Jenkins at Pastor Ken Rees’ funeral [Monday January 5th.]

Pastor John Yeoman provides a tribute for Pastor Ken Rees, ‘It was with a great sense of loss that the saints here in Latvija heard of the home-call of Pastor Ken at the end of December. He, along with his wife Eva were deeply loved and respected here for their commitment, their ministry and work among them. They longed for Ken and Eva to come back to visit. Their memories are full of the immense blessing that Ken in his unique apostolic ministry brought to the people of Latvija. Our prayers are for his widow Eva, daughter Elizabeth and son Ian and their respective families’.

Pastor Eric Parker recalls from his visit to Nigeria in 2007, ‘I was taken to the house where Pastor Parry Selby lived while he was in Nigeria. I was shocked by the basic and simple nature of the accommodation. The conditions that Parry and Kitty would have lived under bore no resemblance to the standards of the UK. The fruit of the work in Nigeria is partly due to the real sacrificial work of men like Parry’.
