Our Mission

Home / About / Our Mission
  • Advancing the Kingdom of God

Our primary concern is not denomination or church growth but the rule and reign of Jesus. God’s mission must be at the heart of everything we do; to see people made in His image redeemed to the Father, through the love of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. The mission takes on many forms including healing the sick, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, preaching the good news, visiting the imprisoned, caring for orphans and widows, educating the poor, providing shelter to the homeless. ActionOverseas is committed to these actions whenever and wherever they can be done in Jesus name and especially when it opens up new opportunities.

  • Church Planting

As God’s kingdom advances, so we should see churches being planted. The church is the hope of the world because it is God’s chosen vessel to make his glory known. ActionOverseas is committed to seeing the gospel proclaimed through the strategic planting of vibrant/missional expressions of Christ’s body.
Our partnership with Harvesters International Ministries is becoming increasingly effective in establishing churches, particularly in Africa.

  • Training and Discipling

ActionOverseas believes that making disciples is the goal of mission. We believe that our church has a richness of theology that equips us well to train other fellowships and leaders. We will continue to respond to overseas needs and requests for training and discipling. More strategically we will look to build relationships with bible colleges and training centres that can act as a hub for apostolic teaching and a base for church planting.

  • Indigenous Leaders Encouraged and Equipped

The Apostolic Church is now present in nearly 100 countries, many of which became autonomous or independent long ago. Many of the nations appreciate being connected with the Apostolic Church internationally and look to the wider church for support and guidance. We value the connections built up over many years with other Apostolic leaders and believe that we can be a source of blessing and encouragement to our overseas brothers and sisters. We believe developing and investing in these relationships mutually benefits both nations and remains a vital component of the work of ActionOverseas.
Within this sphere we also want to be open to the Lord leading us to where the church is persecuted in order to bring encouragement and support.

  • Opportunities to Engage in Mission

Affordable, accessible travel and new technology contributes to the accessibility of different locations, and are helping our world become smaller. ActionOverseas is committed to opening an ever-wider door of opportunity for those in the UK Apostolic Church to engage in overseas mission. In essence we believe that overseas mission is best achieved through un-tapping the vast potential that God has placed within our church.

  • Networking Missional Initiatives

ActionOverseas is committed to not just opening doors of opportunity but working with partners who can multiply the effectiveness of world mission as we evangelise together. This is not necessarily about seeking out partner organisations to enter into new ventures with (though we are always open to that). Rather the emphasis is on ActionOverseas being aware of the overseas mission activity of local churches in the UK, supporting where possible, and disseminating that information to the wider UK church for their partnership through encouragement, prayer, support and direct involvement.
